Take Me To The River…

On Saturday, August 10, the Climate Action Neighborhood (CAN) will present River Pathway Connections, where art, science, and curiosity meet. Come join us for a fun-filled and educational morning filled with mural painting by local artists, Charlie Boyce,

and Krista Canoles.

In addition to the sidewalk mural installations, there will be presentations by my friend and former colleague at EPA, Jeff Lapp, who will discuss how storm drains affect water quality, a Nature Journaling session taught by yours truly, and a giant Turn off the Tap sculpture that you can help assemble.

Come learn a little about rivers, the Chesapeake Bay, nature, and plastics! All this and more thanks to the generosity of Lancaster City and the Love Your Block grant.

Hope to see you there.

That sounds like a fun event Pam – a great way to get people interested in the topic by the sculpture assembly and the mural artists. I often write about Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Michigan. Though Trenton has some scenic greenspaces, there was an intersection that was in an industrial area that was unsightly. It was an underpass, the cement boulders filled with years of graffiti. Some mural artists painted large murals depicting the sights found at the century-old Elizabeth Park, the jewel of the City. The kayaking shots were great and the murals are amazing. I saw the newspaper article and went to visit, but you need a panorama camera to capture the beauty. I hope this event turns out well for you and your friend/former colleague.
