P. J. Lazos is the author of the novel Oil and Water, about oil spills and green technology, and of Six Sisters, a collection of novellas; a blogger for the Global Water Alliance (GWA) in Philadelphia; on the Board of Advisors for the wH2O Journal, the Journal of Gender and Water (U of Penn); a member of the Jr. League of Lancaster; a former correspondent for her local newspaper (Lancaster Intelligencer Journal now LNP); a literary magazine contributor (Rapportage); an editor; a ghostwriter; an author of a children’s book (Into the Land of the Loud); an environmental lawyer; and, because it’s cool, a beekeeper’s apprentice. She practices laughter daily.
About the copyright: How can we call words our own when everyone uses words? Ah, but it’s the assemblage of the words that makes for fun, and the inevitable claim to copyright. Consider this site, and all the words on it, property of me, the author, and hence, copyrighted. When using someone else’s words, I’ll let you know. If you like my words, do share, but please give me credit for creating them. For that, I thank you in advance.
About the photos: The photos without captions are my very own. The photos with captions give credit where credit is due. I usually tap my kids or my friends for their coolest pics. I like to keep it close to home.
Thanks for the follow, Pam 🙂

I’ve tried to follow you so many times and it hasn’t worked. I don’t know why our wordpress accounts don’t speak to each other nicely, Rose! Every time I signed up it said “subscription unsuccessful.” Hopefully, it’s fixed now, although I tried to leave a comment on your latest article and couldn’t do it so I’m still circumspect. I’ve had the same problem with Hilary Bucher’s site and a couple others. No rhyme or reason. Have a good day! (also, still hoping you are going to respond to my questionnaire re: The Twisted Circle, but only if you want to!)

I’ve experienced a similar problem with another blogger that I’ve been following for several years now.

It’s so weird. There’s no rhyme or reason and then one day or just resolves itself. 🤷♀️

Hi Pam,
I just stumbled upon your Medium profile and then found this blog. Your posts are really interesting, and I also like the fun way you write them—especially the “dodo” metaphor and the article about “global bipolar disorder” 😁
Would you be interested in republishing your articles? I run an “online magazine” called Snipette along with a friend, where we try to explain the world in a (hopefully) fun and interesting way, and we’re currently looking for authors (quite an article shortage at the moment! 😛). Your pieces would need some editing to fit our #SnipetteStyle, but you’ve got the quirkiness, and especially the interviews you do would add a nice dimension to our publication.
Do let me know if you’re interested—though I warn you, we can be very fussy editors at times 😜

pjlazos, I’m a bit confused here – want to like (wishing there was a love button instead in your case) & comment on every post here yet am having trouble where some end & can’t find buttons…

Aww, thanks so much! There is only an ability to post on the main page (and in the about page, I think). It’s just the format WordPress offers. But I can feel the love ❤️ coming through the cable wires and I thank you for that!😆🎶

And BTW, what did you think of my latest post?

I thought it was freakin’ awesome! Actually, I’ve made a mental note to spend a bit of time on your blog. I love the “flip the script” concept and you have a canny take on the world in general so I need to shop around a bit. I’ve got two talks to deliver next week that I’ve not spent enough time on and I only really have tomorrow to prep since Monday is back to work so I’ve got to stop procrastinating by reading everyone else’s stuff and get to work. (Also will do the blogfest thing immediately after I finish talk prep. :0)

Wow, I think you’re the only person other than me who likes reading Flip the Script posts!!! A lot of them are unfinished/need work (on my to-do list), but the one on Purgatory managed to emerge nicely. Other FTS posts which I’m particularly proud of are: Which Way Big Man, Take Me Out, and Una tal Raquel.

I will read more. I’ve written a few (unpublished) scripts so the medium of actual script writing interests me. It’s all about choices more so than in a novel where you can go off for paragraphs about a “something.” In screenwriting, every line counts because every minute costs money in production.

Why thank you. I was thinking the same about Faraday’s candle! I had to look up Michael Faraday. I’m guessing it’s Faraday’s Candle because he invented the Bunsen Burner? Or is it something else? Inquiring minds want to know.
