Reflections – September 10, 2021

Thank you, Carol Hand, for the reminder that water is one of our most precious resources and something to be most grateful for.

What I noticed this morning …

As I took my morning shower,

I had to fiddle with the faucet

to get the right water flow and temperature

gratitude struck me as the warm water

massaged an achy neck

and I wondered

“What percentage of the world population can take a warm shower in their own home?”

Curious, I googled the question and found an interesting list of responses. I think it’s worth sharing the first 9 to illustrate something important – at least it’s how goggle’s search engine assesses my interests. I added links for each entry below in case anyone is interested in some of these topics.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this, Pam. I apologize for taking so long to express my gratitude for all you do to raise awareness about our need to be more mindful of our precious water. The beginning of the semester and the ending of harvesting gardens leave little time for any thing else. Sending my best wishes. 💜

I have read for years that in the U.S. we are frivolous with our water usage – not that we should be unclean, but we may overdo it with the showers.

That’s it! We must always be vigilant with our comfortable and wasteful lives. Although I have known since childhood that I always live frugally, and I have never lost that. 🙏💖

  5. One thing that has stuck with me from my Boy Scout days is conservation. When it cones to water, I try not to waste it. I shower using only a small amount of water flow. Ditto.for washing dishes.
