Arctic Ice
In Philadelphia this past winter, the total snowfall count was a wafer thin 0.3 inches. While many Philadelphians celebrated the fact that they didn’t have to scrap the snow off their cars there was yet another upside: an uptick in arctic ice! By keeping the frigid air up north, the ice, like the plot, thickened. It’s still the 11th lowest since we’ve been keeping score with 42 years of satellite photos, but at least it’s not the worst, eh?
A small blip of good news and a reason for celebration in a time when there’s very little else to celebrate.
Remember when hunkering down in your house was because of this:

It’s the last Friday of the month. Time to share the good news on We Are the World Blogfest — #WATWB — a monthly good news trip around the world. May we all be energized and rejuvenated by the good news. If you’re interested in joining our Blog Hop, the guidelines are as follows:

We had quite a bit of snow in the second half of winter here in Wisconsin, but it was still a mild winter compared to last year’s polar vortex mania Huzzah to more arctic weather in the region where wildlife counts on that ice!

Small or big, taking the positives as they come is the only way we will stay sane in these insane times.

I have mused on the fact that we had a mild Winter and I got out much more than usual … then this. I work from home so it’s pretty much the same and I can still walk, but I’m worried to go out in the world as we are a “hot spot” here, gaining 800 new cases in the last 24 hours. Stay safe.

Yes, I know, but Linda, you will be so unhappy if you can’t take your park walks so just distance yourself and continue enjoying nature. 🌳 You, too, stay safe. ❤️🥰

Yes, I hope nothing disrupts that Pam. So many changes and worries these days … and now the weather is making some mischief too.

Thanks Pam – I hope so. I just was listening to the news about the added time to practice social distancing … how is it working out for you with your law practice? We just went to “stay at home” on March 24th. My boss, a labor attorney for management and sole practitioner, has had to go to the office twice to get file materials – we are not an all-digital office and the client wanted materials that he could only obtain on site. I don’t know if our Governor will extend the “stay at home – stay safe” order past the 13th of April yet.

I’ve been working at home a few days a week for years so this has not hampered me at all work wise. It’s just crazy thing as far as everything else goes.

My boss has had some issues adapting, but partly because his scanner was not working properly, so he finally got it online Friday night. He was somewhat acclimated to working from home as he had prostate surgery last November. He had radiation seeds implanted and was only out of commission two days as to being in the office, then for about three weeks, he worked from home and came into the office once daily to get the mail, look up file materials, staying a little more every day. My boss just turned 73 earlier this month … he also co-teaches a private sector labor law class and had to go to e-learning. I had our computer tech set him up for Skype from the office. Stay safe Pam and glad you were already remoting into work, so for us it is pretty seamless, and that is becoming the least of our worries.

Truly the least of our worries, Linda.😍

Oh I can cheer more arctic ice. There’s always unintended consequences of anything, but I do love it when they’re good consequences.

Lovely Pam! May the ice continue to thicken up north while hoping that covid-19 thins until there’s nothing of it left anymore. Be well, stay safe. 🙂 xx

Oh how we pray, Susan. This pandemic is really forcing us all to stop and look within. Perhaps there will be something good to come of it after all. One good thing is that carbon emissions are down worldwide. A heck of a way to get there, but still. Sending you good vibrations. xox

It’s good to find some up-sides, Pam. Thank you for sharing this.
I’ve only seen news reports with large chunks of diminishing glaciers floating away, which is very sobering. To use the latest catch-phrase, best wishes, and ‘stay safe’ 🙂

And the ones of the stranded polar bears,😫 is yes, a small bit of good news on an otherwise bleak horizon. Hope you and yours are “staying safe” as well, Cath.🥰
